On Thursday, October 26, 2023, the Noel Shoe Museum lit up the Metropolitan Club in New York City with its annual fundraising gala – a sparkling evening of festive footwear and nonstop fun in support of the museum’s mission to learn about the culture of man through the evolution of the shoe. Guests played five exciting rounds of high-stakes Bingo, each with fabulous prizes, while marveling at astounding live “shoe illusions” by world-renowned body-paint artist Johannes Stötter. Fashion icon Fern Mallis spoke, then took to the stage to call bingo numbers, building suspense with every draw as the room buzzed with laughter and anticipation. The night’s Icon Collection presentations added unforgettable star power: Harlem Globetrotters Brawley “Cheese” Chisholm and Chris “Handles” Franklin gifted their game-worn sneakers, American boxer Mark Breland presented his boxing shoes, and Fern Mallis herself donated a cherished pair from her own collection.
