On October 24, 2024, St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City transformed into a glittering haven for the Noel Shoe Museum’s annual Shoe Ball supporting the museum’s mission to learn about the culture of mankind through the evolution of the shoe. Guests donning their most fabulous dancing shoes followed a glittering red carpet up the church’s front steps, with “paparazzi” snapping photos of everyone as they arrived for an unforgettable evening. Founder and Chairman Vanessa Noel, along with Board Member Michael Dean, shared highlights from the museum’s past year, including the cultural cruise from Sicily to Greece exploring the stepping stones of culture, a short video on the hugely successful summer exhibition on Nantucket Island, and exciting plans for the year ahead. These include bringing small-format exhibitions to schools to educate children, hosting upcoming educational Stiletto Ambassador events, and announcing the next museum cruise – sailing from Istanbul to Cyprus to explore the first steps of Western civilization. Back by popular demand, the gala featured five high-stakes rounds of Bingo with fabulous prizes, and the thrilled screams of winners echoed beneath the cathedral’s soaring arches. Fashion icon Fern Mallis once again took the stage to call the numbers, adding her signature flair. Following bingo, attendees danced the night away to Alex Donner and his orchestra, immersing themselves in the breathtaking beauty of the church.
