Noel Shoe Museum Unveils “Dream Shoes” in Rome, Launching Landmark European Tour
Period: 5th June – 13th September 2026 / Location: Rome (RM), Italy
ROME – On June 5th the Noel Shoe Museum (NSM) will debut Dream Shoes at Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi, Rome’s esteemed fashion museum, launching the institution’s first two-year European tour and marking a significant step in its international expansion.
The exhibition, which runs through Sept. 13th, brings together three pillars of the museum’s collection. Its Icon Collection features footwear tied to notable figures including Usain Bolt, Susan Lucci, Eric Adams and Shaggy, while a historical selection spans from 10th-century Inca shoes to contemporary design. A third component spotlights founder Vanessa Noel, presenting a retrospective of her four-decade career in luxury footwear.
At the request of the Roman museum, Noel will also debut her new jewelry line alongside her designs, introduced at the Rome opening as an extension of her design legacy.
Following Rome, the exhibition will travel to the Museum Albergo delle Povere in Palermo (IT), the Museo della Calzatura in Vigevano (IT), Palazzo Pitti in Florence (IT), Musée de la Chaussure in Romans-sur-Isère (FR), the Fashion and Textile Museum in London (UK) and the Lalaounis Museum in Athens (GR) through 2028.
The tour underscores NSM’s mission to learn about the culture of mankind through the evolution of shoes, while positioning the museum within Europe’s leading fashion institutions.
